The firm was founded in 1998 by Loren Jacobsen and his son David Jacobsen. Today, the firm has two partners and has grown to employ a full team of professional staff at its office in Waukee. We specialize in helping businesses, associations, non-profits, and individuals navigate the complex world of accounting and tax. From the beginning, we have always enjoyed helping our clients see how financial reporting and tax planning can enhance their bottom line. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our client’s experience and help them prepare for the future.

David Jacobsen
CPA
David Jacobsen serves as managing partner of Jacobsen & Company, LLP and was a founding partner of the firm along with his father Loren in 1998. David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Kansas. He has over 25 years of experience in public accounting with an emphasis in individual, corporate, and non-profit taxes, financial reporting, and consulting. David is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants, and has served as a board member of various local non-profit organizations.
When not working, David enjoys playing golf and traveling with his wife Cari.
Grant Booth
CPA
Grant joined Jacobsen & Company, LLP, in 2013 as an intern and became a partner in 2023. He graduated in 2016 from Iowa State University with his bachelor’s in accounting and finance and received his Certified Public Accountant license in 2017. Grant specializes in providing accounting, tax, and consulting services to businesses and associations. He enjoys creating customized solutions for each of his clients to help them evaluate their financial picture and find ways to improve the bottom line. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Grant and his wife Jenna have three children and live in Ankeny, Iowa.
